Photo Essays About The Construction of Our Sangha Rest Shed

Finishing the Window, Door, Trim, Stairs, Railings and Interior

May 8th 2014: The window was a used pre-built unit I had bought at the Habitat for Humanity 'ReStore' in Medford. It slipped into the pre-framed hole and was easily nailed into place.

May 9th 2014: The pre-framed door was also bought at Habitat for Humanity. It was quickly put into its pre-framed opening, and squared and levelled.

May 9th 2014: I built a wide shelf over the west end of the shed. This was for the longer items that needed to be up out of the way.

May 9th 2014: I built a smaller shelf over the east end of the shed and over the door. It was for gardening supplies.

May 11th 2014: I bought a small section of linoleum and covered the floor inside.

May 18th 2014: I built a landing for the stairs and put balusters on the front porch railings.

May 20th 2014: I cut, built and mounted the stair assembly to the landing.

May 23rd 2014: Liza painted the front porch railings and most of the trim brown.

October 4th 2014: I got the railings built for the stairs.

October 4th 2014: Liza came along right behind me and painted the railings and the stairs.
